Rembrandt (Rembrandt van Rijn) 1653

I have always wanted a Rembrandt etching, but was always $10,000 short on being able to buy one. So I decided to reproduce it myself from a high quality photo. This is a reproduction using a modern version of a copper plate called Photopolymer plates. The artwork is transferred to the plate, exposed to UV light and washed in water to the photopolymer leaving a plate etched in a way similar to the original copper plate. The plate is then inked with traditional etching inks like Rembrandt would use and run through an etching press with Japanese Kozo paper (Hosokawa Ohban) transferring the ink to the paper and leaving a plate mark. It is a very thin translucent paper that is very strong and similar to what Rembrandt would use. The print is archival and will last many lifetimes. The print size is 17.5x19.5 and the image size is 11x12.5 inches.

The Three Crosses is a print in etching and drypoint which depicts the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Most of his prints are mainly in etching and this one is a drypoint with burin adjustments from the third state onwards. It is considered "one of the most dynamic prints ever made"
